POST 1: A COUNTRY YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

 Hello there everyone, today we're going to be talking about a country you would like to visit and why.

Personally, I think all countries have got something of interest. There isn't one single country I wouldn't like to visit for one or another reason (though there are some I'd avoid for a while). Nonetheless, in this case I have to choose only one.  So, I must say I'd like to visit Iceland. Why Iceland? You would ask. Many reasons actually. Iceland is but a small island country isolated in the middle of the Atlantic ocean with a population no larger that 350 thousand people. It's got some of the most beautiful landscapes of the northern hemisphere, and it's one of the few places where you can see the northern lights clearly. The population is socially active and commited. The country is special in many other ways. It has been the main center for genetic studies (due to its small population) and interestingly the Icelanders have no family lastname, they work on a patronymic lastname basis, which I think it's quite unusual in this day and age.


Although it is a small country, I would like to take a good time to visit as much as possible, to get to know all possible corners of its natural landscapes and its people and culture. And if possible, If I could get a job there, I wouldn't complain to stay and work there (at least for a few years). I honestly believe it's a country that's worth visiting (if big cities is not what you like).

    Wow, Iceland it's really a very small country. It has almost the Valparaiso population (295.113).

POST 5: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

   I'm aware of, and I have to support some of them, though from my perspective, the programme should be almost entirely different, and I will explain you why that is. First of all, I studied a 4 year-long BA on English Language and Literature, with a fixed curriculum focused almost entirely on the English language (the English language course was annual and it took almost 4 classes each week). It also had some Linguistics courses (which I personally enjoyed most of them), and one Literature course each term. From I know, things have changed, now students have more Linguistics courses, the English language course is now term based, and they have more Literature, which I believe is good. The faculty was relatively poor, as the Humanities and Social Sciences are not really respected in Chile, classrooms were not the best, but not the worst either. POST 4: TIME TRAVEL TO THE PAST OR FUTURE

  Time travel has long been a subject of fascination and speculation. The idea of venturing into the future, witnessing technological marvels, societal changes, and perhaps gaining insights into the course of humanity, is undeniably alluring. Or maybe travelling into the past to witness key moments of human history, or meet the historical characters that we’ve always wanted to meet. For me, well, I’ve chosen to travel into the future. The past we’ve already know it, but the future is unknown, it’s a mystery, and mysteries are fun at least. In this hypothetical journey, let's fast forward to 2100—a sweet spot of progress and relatability (or not). Why? The turn of the century has historically marked pivotal moments. Eight decades into the future could either promise a thrilling blend of technological marvels and societal evolution, or, most likely, a dystopic horrible and unliveable reality. I am personally not very optimistic considering the course humanity is taking at the moment....
